Your Questions, Answered
Everything you need to know before booking your East Africa safari.
The Maasai Mara is spectacular year-round, but the best time to witness the Great Migration (including dramatic river crossings) is July–October. December–March is excellent for calving season and fewer crowds. We can advise based on exactly what you want to see.
A Kenya safari with Stefran Tours starts from around $1,200 per person for a 3-day budget safari. Luxury fly-in packages with premium camps range from $3,500–$6,000+. All our quotes are fully itemised with no hidden charges — contact us for your specific dates and requirements.
We specialise in private and small-group safaris (max 6 per vehicle). You'll never be mixed with strangers without your consent. Private safaris mean departing on your schedule and spending as long as you like at each sighting.
Our standard packages include: 4×4 game drive vehicle, professional guide, park entry fees, all meals during the safari (full board), accommodation as specified, and airport/lodge transfers. International flights and travel insurance are excluded and arranged separately.
Most nationalities require an East Africa Tourist Visa, obtainable online via the eTa portal (evisa.go.ke) for USD 50. Citizens of many African and Commonwealth countries may enter visa-free. We provide a full pre-departure guide covering visa requirements for your nationality.
Kenya's national parks and reserves are very safe for visitors. We use KTB-licensed guides with 10+ years of experience, GPS-tracked vehicles, and maintain 24/7 emergency communication. We brief you on all safety protocols before each game drive.
Key items: neutral/earthy coloured clothing (khaki, olive), wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen SPF 50+, insect repellent, binoculars, camera with zoom lens, warm layer for early morning drives, comfortable walking shoes. See our full Safari Packing List.
